For my own Double Exposure, I want it to be cool and elegant of the elements with fire and sea. Hence, I did some research on this kind of design.

FINAL OUTCOME

Description:
The design of my own Double Exposure is to create an essence of water and fire merging with a surreal interplay between the elements. I wanted to present a powerful sense of resilience amidst hopelessness. The woman in the final outcome, which is myself, was engulfed in flames that consumed me from within. The fire wraps around my body, representing overwhelming emotions and a struggle that feels impossible to escape. Yet, as the ocean waves slowly approach, they attempt to put out the fire, expressing a glimmer of hope. Besides, the birds flying symbolized a desire for freedom and release from the pain. Overall, this design is to represent courage to people, even if there is little hope, we need to be strong for ourselves.

Quotes of the day: I'm not perfect, but I'm limited edition.
Summary of your design concept:
I chose the quote, “I’m not perfect, but I’m Limited Edition,” by Cecil Pratt for my poster design to express a powerful message for today’s generation, who often feel pressured by unrealistic beauty standards. People always think that they're not good enough, not pretty enough, not successful enough; they always compare themselves to others, and I’m the same too. However, no one is born perfect. I want to create this poster to remind myself and also the viewers that we don’t need to be flawless to be valuable; we are born to be special and unique. Instead, our unique qualities and imperfections make us rare and irreplaceable. We should love ourselves; perfection is not the goal — being real and confident is.
REFLECTION
Experiences:
It was very fun for this project; we need to take a photo of our portrait image. I took my portrait by myself; it was hard to capture the angle, and I don't actually know how to pose, so I spent a lot of time taking the picture, but it was quite fun. After that, I used Adobe Photoshop complete the project. This project was harder than before. I have a few confusing points, like the clipping mask and the brush tool (colour picker), so I repeated the tutorial video again and again and also decreased the speed of the video as it was too fast for me to look at the details. Plus, the process needed a lot of patience and attention to detail, especially when refining transitions between the elements to make them feel seamless.
Observations:
I observed that the colour blues and yellows actually helped soften the intensity of the fire and made the image feel balanced rather than chaotic, as my initial idea of the colour is red and orange, but the result is weird and feels unbalanced. I also noticed that layer masks and gradient overlays were creating smooth transitions between fire and water, giving the impression that the fire was being extinguished.
Findings:
Through this project, I learned new skills and techniques in Photoshop such as blending modes, brush tool (flow), layer mask, and so on. I also discovered that blending mode adjustments can create depth and realism in Photoshop.
