Before I sketch my poster, I found some references from Pinterest. I wanted to create a playful style of my poster design.

Part 2. Design Direction

Sketch

I started with a rough sketch on paper, and here's the initial idea of my self-titled poster. The idea I came up with is myself as the main object, and a classic car and film strips, disco behind, just like a collage. The word "YOLO" is like shouting it out, presenting a more dynamic and playful feel. Plus, I wanted to put some images of my own experiences on traveling.

REFLECTION

Experiences:
This project is fun as I can use my portrait and other images to create a digital poster. The images I choose were all of my wonderful moments with friends and family. I choose the title "YOLO" as it's meaningful for me, and combining my self-portrait with a mix of playful styles.

Observation:
I observed that this project was like a digital collage, the placement, scale, and style can significantly influence the mood and overall impact of a composition. Plus, I realized how the warped text interacts with the central figure and surrounding imagery helped me create a dynamic flow.

Findings:
I'm now more proficient in using Photoshop than I was before. This project fully brings my vision to life, giving me the freedom to as creative as I want, allowing me to incorporate various styles and effects into a cohesive final piece. It's enjoyable and rewarding.
