LECTURES

Week 13:

Today (16/12/2024) is our last lecture. Mr. Fauzi gives us feedback on our poster design, and we continued our final project (Self-Titled) and did the animation for it.

Here's some Tips & Tricks videos using After Effects given by Mr. Fauzi:

PROJECT 4: SELF-TITLED

Part 3. Execution and Post Production

Progress In Adobe Effects

Fig.1.1.1 Progression #1 - Import / (Week 13, 16/12/2024)

This week, we moved on to continue part 3 of the animation progress. I first import the image from Photoshop. For my animation, my idea is the word "YOLO" starts small and grows larger, as if shouting, like expressing excitement. It might pulse or bounce slightly after expanding to emphasize energy. Next, the hands sway from side to side, like they're walking joyfully, creating a playful vibe. Plus, the film photo gradually appears on the screen, starting faint and becoming fully visible, like a memory being unveiled gently.

Fig.1.1.2 Progression #2 - Transform / (Week 13, 16/12/2024)

Here's the transform I made for each element. I used Position, Scale, Rotation, and Opacity to make it more dynamic.

FEEDBACK

Week 13 (16/12/2024):

Specific Feedback: You can proceed, you work is quite straight forward, the composition is good, you can animate it.

REFLECTION

Experience:
For this project, I used Photoshop to design the poster and Adobe After Effects to do the animation. I'm having fun animating it as it can reflect on my identity through visual elements. I make it simple by transforming it into a dynamic work of poster.

Observation:
Throughout this project, animating the collage in After Effects brought me new insights. I observed animation could make the artwork feel alive by adjusting the p
osition, scale, rotation, and so on.

Findings:
From this project, I learned how to arrange the composition and position of those elements to make a more cohesive artwork. By animating my own image, I discovered a deeper emotional connection to the work.
